RA4 Light Lab Privacy Policy
Last updated 31 October 2026
RA4 Light Lab is a photo app that develops your pictures like film, entirely on your iPhone or iPad. It does not collect any personal data. This page explains what the app touches on your device and why.
No data collection
- RA4 Light Lab has no accounts and no sign-in.
- It contains no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it does not use any third-party services.
- It does not send your photos, your edits or any information about you or your device to the developer or to anyone else.
Your photos
- Photos library. When you allow it, RA4 Light Lab opens the photos you choose where they are in your library, and saves the pictures you export beside them and in an album of its own. It reads only the photos you open.
- Files and linked folders. Photos you import from Files are copied into the app's own storage on your device. Photos in a folder you link are edited where they are, and their exports are saved in that folder.
- Cameras and cards. When you connect a camera or card reader and allow access, the app reads the photos on it so you can import the ones you choose into your Photos library.
- Your original photos are never changed. Your edits are stored only on your device.
Exported pictures
An exported picture keeps the photo's exposure, lens and date details, so other apps can show them. The app leaves out the camera's and lens's serial numbers and the photo's location.
Purchases
RA4 Light Lab Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple handles the payment; the app only learns whether Pro is unlocked on your Apple Account. The developer never sees your name, your Apple Account or your payment details.
Free exports
Without Pro, the app counts the week's free exports. For that it keeps the time of each free export, and nothing about the picture, in the iOS Keychain on your device. The Keychain keeps these times even if you delete the app, so reinstalling it does not reset the count. They are not synced through iCloud and never leave your device.
Diagnostics
The app writes a small text file of render timings and memory use into its own folder on your device, for checking performance. It stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.
Children
Because RA4 Light Lab collects no data from anyone, it collects none from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
